Think globally, act locally.

On February 29, 2020, the first environmental seminar «Let's save the world» was held at the library on the basis of the American Corner. The participants of the seminar were 28 people: tutors and teachers of specialized subjects (biology, geography, chemistry, ecology) of secondary schools, as well as students of colleges and universities of the city.

The purpose of the seminar is to improve the skills in environmental protection, as well as to improve practical skills and use the knowledge gained in the course of the further professional activities.

“Learning a language means opening a new window into the world”

Within the framework of the concept of trilingual education for 2016-2020 of the language policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the US Embassy in Kazakhstan for the fourth time organized a national English word spelling contest (Kazakhstan Spelling Bee 2020) among students of Kazakh educational institutions.

The purpose of the competition is to promote the study of English among Kazakhstan's youth.

Harry Sinclair Lewis was an American novelist, short-story writer and playwright. In 1930, he became the first writer from the United States to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. He began his career as a journalist and, like O. Henry and Sherwood Anderson, studied the life and customs of provincial America well. Lewis acted as the author of works typical of the beginning of the 20th century about a stubborn and enterprising loner, a native of the very bottom.

Volunteer movements of Kazakhstan will have a new start of development. 2020 is declared as the Volunteer Year in Kazakhstan.

President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his state-of-the-nation address highlighted the role of volunteers in the process of strengthening civil society.
