American Corner Karaganda which placed in the International Book Department had a great new year's eve party. Twinkling lights of garlands, delicious treats, exciting quizzes created a wonderful new year mood. Readers of the library, who visited the event, smiled like children, and gladly participated in the games prepared by volunteers. It should be noted that there were several guests who had not previously visited the library. After learning about the upcoming event on social networks, they became interested, and they decided to enroll in the library and visit us.

About 40 people took part in the celebration. First, a quiz was held in English, on the theme of myths about the new year. As a Department of the International book, we learned that the annual Olympic games of Santa Claus and Santa Claus are held in Sweden, we found out why the tradition to blow up firecrackers was born in China, and how in Finland is called Santa Claus.

It is also especially necessary to talk about the process of preparing for the holiday. Employees of the Department decorated the hall, created a photo-, thought about the idea of competitions on the day of the event. Volunteers helped with the decoration of the hall, both before and on the day of the holiday. Employees of other departments of the library, who also came to the rescue, asked with interest about the upcoming holiday.

Volunteers Alina Egorova, Madina Jhunusova, Kamila Saulebaeva especially helped in the organization of the festival, adding their own ideas about competitions and games for companies.

On the day of the holiday in the library in the morning there was a festive atmosphere. In a decorated hall volunteers blowing up balloons, preparing food, added the finishing touches. In addition to games and quizzes, a small draw was held among the participants. At the entrance, each person is given a personal number, with a green or red bracelet. For good reason we chose these colors; they complement the overall picture of the holiday. Later, when it was necessary to divide people into teams, people just found each other on bracelets of the same color.

The festival was attended by all volunteers and employees of the Department, who are moderators of various clubs. They talked about the activities of the clubs, thus carried out additional work to disseminate information about the activities of the Department.

The celebration began at 2 PM and lasted until 5 PM. In the end, participants were asked to make a small feedback, using the platform in the meantime, to log in. Is it worth clarifying that all the reviews were positive?

After the celebration, readers and volunteers, working together, helped to put the hall in order, continuing to communicate with each other, and obviously not wanting to leave.

We are very grateful to our readers for the great mood and time given to us. We wish you all a happy New year and all the best.
